Dr Sumathi Mani is a dental graduate of the University of Sydney and has been in private practice for over 30 years. She achieved Membership to the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in General Dental Practice (MRACDS-GDP) in 2012. Dr Mani has postgraduate training and experience in dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics (root canal treatment) and orthodontics (braces).
Her experience spans through varied roles such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE), NSW Health, Justice Health, Aboriginal Dental Services, Royal Rehab, Health Fund Clinic (HCF), the owner of a successful private dental practice (Elite Dental) for over 20 years, the Australian Dental Association (NSW Branch) and the University of Sydney (School of Dentistry).
Currently, she divides her time equally between RFDSSE (Broken Hill/Dubbo), University of Sydney (clinical educator) for third and final year students and rural private practice.
Dr Sumathi Mani has excellent current knowledge of dentistry, wide-ranging experience and the necessary skills to implement most clinical procedures. As a dentist who has been in clinical practice for 30 years with minimal breaks, her eagerness to learn and improve has helped her immensely in her career. Wide-ranging experiences along with sound scientific knowledge gives her the advantage to identify and make difficult decisions with relative ease.
She is a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Society of Endodontology (NSW Branch), International Team in Implantology and the Hills Dental Study Group.
Dr Sumathi Mani participates in the local community, public schools and day-care centres promoting oral health. She was involved with the Local Scout Group where she lives and was a Joey Scout Leader for 3 years.
Her hobbies include reading, making cakes and jewellery, community fundraising and enjoying every free moment with her family.
